Magazine Design: In Practice

Magazine Design: In Practice

For 30 years, the Wexner Center for the Arts produced a bi-monthly events calendar as a primary marketing tool. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted in-person programming, the center needed a new publication model that could adapt to uncertainty while continuing to engage audiences.

The first issue featured a variable cover featuring details of artwork by Tomashi Jackson.

In Practice was developed as a shift from event promotion to editorial content, focusing on the ideas, processes, and people behind contemporary art. I led the redesign of this publication, balancing continuity of the long-standing format with the need for a clearer, more flexible system.
